“Elle, La feuille”
Photographic Exhibition
Photographic Exhibition by Rudy Pessina at the Gallery ROoM 38 of Dijon 2 to 22 March 2012.
The photographer Rudy Pessina, born in Milan and for years the cornerstone of artistic milieu of Pisa, is increasingly projected onto the European scene. After his participation last September to one of the most important photographic events in Russia, the Photo Vernissage of St. Petersburg, with a selection of works from his series Donna Infinito, he is currently exhibiting at the Galleria ROOM 38 in Dijon, France.
The exhibition, which is planned in March, 2 to 22, in addition to presenting in France his peculiar point of view about the women’s universe expressed in the works of Donna Infinito, will show his new work: Elle, La Feuille.
It is a photographic project born under the influence of the keen irony in the Exercises in Style by R. Queneau. Elle, La Feuille also arises from the sensitivity of Rudy Pessina observing and depicting nature.
In this case, a pile of curled dry leaves of Aralia were collected and brought in the studio, and the photographer, so fascinated by the wide range of expressive poses that the leaves adopted during their plant life, began to shoot one by one with rigorous black and white still life. So the pictures of the leaves became the shots of an imaginary photobook dedicated to a single model, a lady-leaf, so poetical and charming.
The last picture in the series humorously catches the lady-leaf during an intimate moment, in the backstage, while she’s looking to herself in one of the portraits.
